If you paper paper piece or applique you will love this book of quilt blocks. It really does have a block for every season or special occasion. It has both pieced and appliqued numbers and letters as well as a substantial floral collection. May
Quilt Mavens by Deb Karasik and Janet Mednick. This is a book for those members who enjoy paper piecing. The first few patterns look quite easy and the author assures us that the method for putting them together is simple. Many of the following patterns are really spectacular. The book comes with two CD's, one with instructions and the other with a bonus pattern. Paper piecers take note - this could be your entry for next year's quilt show.
Beautifully Embellished Landscaping. This book covers 125 tips and techniques
for creating stunning quilts. Everyone who has seen this book wants to
take it out so I expect it will be a very poplular addition to our collection.
Even though some of you couldn't make it to Paducah, you can still see the
show. We have the American Quilter's Society 2007 "Catalogue
of Show Quilts" in our library. These quilts are the best of the best - a
truly amazing collection.

New Librarians...New Ideas! Pauline and Carol have implemented an honour system for magazines. They are now out on a bookshelf (donated by Carol) ready to be borrowed at all times.. Put your name in the brown book... If you decide you want to keep it... Just replace it with another recent one! Plus Donations are always welcome. They should be 2004 or more recent. Library InformationThe Library is open to
all EQG members in Studio C from 6:30 to 7:05 p.m. at all General Meetings. The
Library is also open on Studio days for one or two hours if a Librarian or EQG
executive member is in attendance. Remember to wear your EQG name tag when
borrowing books. Volunteers are needed
to review some new books. We are also looking for Library helpers who could
assist us on an "as needed" basis. The EQG Library is a
wonderful and extensive resource for all members. |
