CQA Challenge

As a member Guild of CQA, EQG will submit one quilt from our guild to be shown at Quilt Canada 2023. The theme is Sun, Sand and Sea. Quilts must be no larger than 72” perimeter, finished with either binding, facings, or enveloped pillow-case style and have a 3” hanging strip and label on the back For additional information and requirements check this link. The winner will be announced at our May 2023 meeting.

Quilt Fever

Our quilt show was a huge success, congratulations to everyone who participated! If you are keen to see more, here are a few “local” quilt shows that we have been able to find online .Or check out QuiltingHub.com for lots of info on shows across North America! If you know of any upcoming quilt shows, email us at eqgweb@gmail.com and we will add them to the list. Our next Quilt Fever will be held in 2025.

Some fun facts (thanks, Jane!)

  • 129 quilts were hung in the show
  • 474 ballots were submitted
  • 86% of ballots voted for the maximum of 5 different quilts
  • 2162 votes were submitted

The quilts in the top 5 were separated by only 9 votes, and these were by far the favourites. The quilts were:

  •  Birth Flowers by Teresa Mackie
  •  Fox and Friend by Adele Gataveckas
  • Rainbow Vortex by Celia Cherry
  • Northern Wilderness by Teresa Mackie
